Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Lowering Child support payments

I am paying $482.00 month support which was based on earnings from a previous job which I lost. I am now ma--name removed-- just above min. wage now. I can't afford an Attny let alone a trip to Florida to contest my support amount. Is there any help out there for someone in my position? I am not rtying to get out of paying, I just need to get my payments lowered. My ex WILL do anything to contest the change.

Re: Lowering Child support payments

You must make an application to the Court for modification of support. It will only be effective prospectively. Perhaps Legal Aid or the Bar Association in the appropriate county can be of furhter help.
