Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

i have permanent guardianship of my grandson from the court of New York since the year 2003, the father which is my son has him for 3 months on a verbal agreement to see if he got use to staying with him, but now he wants to come back, I went to get him and the father would not let me take him, I call the police and showed them the court papers and still they told me that I would have to go to the court here in fl. and file again, I want to know why if the papers are legal.

In Florida, guardianship doesn't work the way (I think) it works in New York. In Florida, to permanently keep a child from a parent, you have to have a dependency order (something like a child services court order) or you have to have adoption papers. You'll have to file a dependency lawsuit to get an order to permanently keep your grandson. You'll need a family law attorney to help you.
