Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I plan on getting a lawyer to gain full custody of my 6 year old. Can my husbands past issues such as being found guilty of battery on his ex wife , drinking to excess nightly and that he has kids with three other women be brought into play? I left because although he hadn't attacked me physically yet when he drinks (I have to pack a bag and put it in the car in case my daughter, stepkids and I have to escape)

but knowing his past and how angry he gets I felt like it could easily escalte to that point. I have never called the cops even at the worst of times when he was drunk and going nuts so there is no record of his behavior because he would get really mad and I don't want to cause a scean in the neighborhood. Any advise would be helpful! Thanks

Past issues are not nearly so important as current issues. If he's drinking around the child and you can prove it, and if the drinking is somehow harming the child, you may have a case. The same is true for the violence, though most judges only care if there are police reports. It probably won't matter that he has kids by many women.
