Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I recently went blind in my right eye,I am having surgery,and am one month from my final divorce in front of a judge. I am going on short term disability,my wages are being garnished for alimony,will they garnish my disability also.It is only short term,I will receive 500 a week, I live in Florida and my disability is through a insurance company.

If the disability is short term then no. You should file for a reduction in alimony if you are injured. Contact my office for free consultation.

I am not sure I agree with Mr. Smitten on this issue. If this is through Afflac then I would suspect that you would still be garnished. However, I definitely would file an emergency motion for reduction of alimony while undergoing surgery and recovery.
