Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Subject: Alimony laws in Florida

Approximately 1 yr ago I became divorced and required to pay long term monthly alimony to x-spouse until she remarries or dies. My questions is, if I move to Florida perminently what impact will this have on the alimony judgement. If I do not pay alimony what are my options. I am not aware of any penalities if alimony is not paid (unlike child support). Thank so much.

A court order is a court order, whether it dictates child support or alimony. If your divorce was in GA, you are subject to contempt in the court where the divorce was granted if you do not pay.
