Can ex wife stop child support payments

my ex-wife has agreed to stop child support payments. can this be done and what are the procedures on doing this. I do owe some back support so what happens with this?

The safest for you is to have the agreement reduced to writing and submitted to the court for approval. I have had cases where the parties have agreed to a change in payments and later the spouse gets mad and goes to court to collect the original amount. Since there was no court approval of the change/reduction the local judges award full back payments.
