Legal Question in Medical Leave in Florida

question about medical leave act

I was wondering how long you have to be on a job before you might be considered on this act. I was working at walmart for about a month and I ended up having a cyst on my overie and it ruptured. I was told by my dr. not to work untill i had my surgery which was about a month and half later. And now I am not suppose to return to work for 6 weeks. So total I have lost about 3 mts worth of wages and it has caused my family hardship. Should I get an injury lawyer or what should I do from here? Ive filed for unemployment and that does not seem to be going well either.

You did not work long enough for FMLA. Was the rupture caused by working? If so you may have an workers compesnation claim. Also, if they are denying unemployment I miht be able to help you with that process.
