Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Is it legal for a Home owners Assoc. to send you a bill that shows the past 4 years of homeowners dues, owed... if the H.O.A. never sent you a bill or invoice for dues any of those 4 years ? If I receive a bill I pay it. They don't send me a bill how would I know if there is a balance due and am I still responsible for paying ?

Thank You , Chris Schliesmann

Yes it is legal to send a bill for 4 years that are owed. You would know the bills are due as the HOA dues should have been provided at closing on the property and they are a continuing recurring bill. You now have the bill and if proper you need to pay it. You are still responsible and if you don't pay it they can foreclose on the lien created by non payment.
