Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

I live in Port St. Lucie Florida. I have been living with a man for 20 years. We own a home and another piece of property together jointly. We have a mortgage with both our names on it and have also raised 2 children together. One is 18 and the other will be 9 shortly. We have never married. I fear we are at the point of separation and my boyfriend is stating that I am to leave with nothing. He claims that because his mom helped with a down payment 20 years ago, that I am not entitled to any property or the monetary value of any property, even though we have both been paying and maintianing a home together for all this time and my name is on the mortgage as well. I do not have any other money except what I make per week and that is around $ 250. Should I contact a legal aid department in my area?
