Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

I went to a online High school. Paid with the tuition with a pre paid visa debit card. 8 months later found out that the school was not accredited; they had lied to me and even used fake information on their website. I called visa fraud, they said they cannot do anything since it was over 3 months ago. The fraudulent school refuses to give me my money back. I forwarded them many letters and have tons of proof; I even submitted the paper work the the IC3(FBI crime unit), Mail fraud division since the diplomas were printed and shipped from a 3rd party. What can I do to obtain a diploma? Can I sue them in small claims? Lost about $400-$500. Im 18 that was all my hard earned money. Please advise me as best you can thank you

Yes you can sue the school in small claims court. However, you want to make sure that the school is still in business in some fashion since even if you get a judgment against them, you would then need to collect the judgment and if they are no longer in business, you may than be out the additional time and money you spent on the small claims lawsuit. Feel free to call my office if you wish to discuss the matter further.

This may be a violation for the Unfair and Deceptive Trades Act. If so, you would be entitled to attorneys fees and costs. Therefore, see a lawyer. Want to know the law? Yes, sue them and consult with an attorney before handling this yourself. Good luck!
