You'll need to provide more information about the type of classification you were seeking. That is, who petitioned for you? Was it a U.S. citizen spouse, parent, sibling? Or, was it a Permanent Resident? As well, more information about your immigration status will be needed.

It sounds like your case will next be processed by the National Visa Center for immigrant visa processing. This would mean that you have to apply at a consulate for the visa. But depending on your answers to the above you may be eligible to obtain the green card without leaving the U.S. To better advise you, more information will be needed.

Please contact me for more information and to schedule an appointment.

Sincerely,
