Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida
hurricane insurance for condominium
we are a 4 unit condominium association in florida.during thte hurricanes of 2004 our building lost it's roof and subsequently all 4 units were severly damaged.our association was formed in 1981 and our condo docs require the association's policy to cover not only the common elements but also all the interiors..walls,fixtures etc.our policy was renewed in november 2003,before the new statute went into effect that negates this.the policy clearly states that appliances are not covered.however, when we recieved the final settlement, the adjuster's report covered appliances in one of the units.are we required to pay for those appliances out of the insurance proceeds even though the policy does not cover them?

Since the insurance carrier paid for it, yes, otherwise , return the $ to the carrier.
