Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Florida

Theres this one burning question about copywriting nobody can answer
I am a good song writer, or so im told(by everyone). Anyways, i would reeally like to get into ghost writing, and i think i have a good plan for it, but i have no idea how to copywrite my songs, so bloodthirsty untalented bands don't steal them.Please tell me how a 17 year old can go about copywriting songs.Thank you in advance for your help.

WHy "ghostwriting"? Why not take full credit for your work? You need protection under copyright law to prevent infringement and collect royalties.
