Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

2 months ago, i worked at sams club. This girl who is a girlfriend of an associate's son, came into work and tired to fight me, i walked away and talked to the managers about it. the next day they told me that it would be in my best interest to put in my 2 weeks notice that way i could be in good standing with the company and be hired back on at a later time.. they also said that if i didnt i could get wrote up and fired and not be able to be hired back on. Now the girl that came in and tried to fight me works at sams club now she had just got hired on and i was wondering if i could sue them for this? i feel like they have discriminated against me.

The Answer is you can sue anyone you want anytime you want. The real question is whether you have a case which is justiciable and which you might be able to prevail. Sam's Club and Walmart are known to fight every law suit filed against them vigorously.

I don't think you have a case, unless the person hired was of another group than you based on gender, race, ethnicity, religion etc. You would have to prove disparate treatment. Please remember in Florida workers don't have many rights.

It would be problematic if you would get a lawyer to take such a case.
