Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Hi,

I am a Foreign Medical Graduate and worked for a HMO as Utilization Review Manager for 5 1/2 years. At the time I was hired it was not required to have a RN or LPN license to work as such. Yesterday I was laid off because now it is required by the company, I was never warned or notified that I need to have the license.

What are my rights?

Unless your contract requires advance notice -- and it probabhly does not -- you are not entitled to any notice. Florida is not a friendly state to employees at will.
