Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

income tax

hi,i work in a convenient store for over a year without medical, dental benifit or work insurance.

1)-We are three employes working in the store but instead of declaring us to irs and social security as the employes he is declaring his parents and sister as the employes

2)- I make $500 a week but my boss doesn't wanna declare my whole income so he won't have to pay the tax,all he promised me to declare is $250.

3)- I need a work certificat for credit purposes but he refuses to give to me saying that his lawyer and accountant told him to not do it which i know that a lawyer would never tell him that.

appreciate any help

thanks

Re: income tax

It sounds like there are many problems with your employer. He is cheating you out of social security contributions among other things.

The choice is yours, but your remedy is to call the IRS and tell them what is going on. They can secure your proper taxes and SS payments.

As far as work certificate is concerned, he is under no obligation that I know of to give you one, unless you are on some sort of subsidized program where he gets some benefit for employing you. Otherwise, you will probably not be able to force him to sign.
