Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I recently started a new sales/marketing job in the past 2 months. Suddenly my boss told me I was not meeting his expectations. He had told me to take off the long holiday weekend from the 2nd-8th and come up with a plan on how I can acheive results differently and speak with him when he gets back from vacation on the Wednesday the 8th. I left serveral voicemails on both my boss and my administrator's cell phones as well as e-mails concerning meeting with them to speak about my "plan".

I have since only received one follow up e-mail from him asking if I would like to meet which I replied Yes. Since they have not given me any direction and have not given me notice of my termination can they legally not pay me ? My job is an outside marketing & sales consultant so I do not have a typical come into the office day- I am a road warrior.

My boss has been very unresponsive, he has also mentioned to me that he is in the process of finding another company that may benefit me more. I have left him 2 voicemails, 2 emails. In each of th e-mail I ask him to respond to me by phone, which he has not. What other attempts should I make incase I need to file unemployment.

Thank You.

If you are fired for performance related issues, you are still entitled to recover unemployment. They can only seek to disqualify you for misconduct. If you wish to read more about this issue feel free to check out my employee righs blog www.takethisjobnshoveitblog.com.
