Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Salary & Travel Reimbursement

I have been recently terminated and have a few questions...

I was a salaried management employee, my employers pay period is every two weeks, the payweek period runs from Sunday through Saturday. My first day was on a Thursday and my last day was a Monday, both days being my employers choice. Should my employer pay me for the full week in either or both cases?

Their employee handbook states the all mileage will be re-imbursed at the standard IRS mileage rate, which I believe is .36 a mile for 2002, but the employer will only reimburse at a rate of .29 per mile. Can they do this?

How long can they hold my last paycheck?

Any information would be appreciated.

Yes they can do this and no they don't have to pay you for a full week--they're only obligated to pay for you for days actually worked, i.e. a prorated portion of your salary. The mileage payment is at their discretion regardless of what their handbook says (unfortunately). Finally, your last paycheck should be paid on the next regular payday.
