If the employer was a Corporation, you should check on whether it filed for Bankruptcy. You could file a claim to recoup some of the money. If the employer was a partnership or a sole proprietorship, you could sue the owners directly. Check with the Florida Department of Corporations, the County Occupational License office to determine the form of the business. It is a longshot that you would recover any of the money owed.
