Legal Question in Military Law in Florida

military BAH being withheld from dependent

I married a marine. I believe now that he married me in order to receive the extra benefits that go along with being married. BAH, Separation pay etc. He is not sending me the BAH(Basic Allowance for Housing) I need help in locating an attorney who understands how I can go about forcing him to provide me with the entitlement that is mine.

Re: military BAH being withheld from dependent

If you are married to a Marine and are not receiving support (and the Marine is) I would first contact the Marine's command and ask them. The Marine Corps has a policy that discusses support obligations and they will not take kindly to a Marine who receives entitlements but is not supporting his or her dependents.

If this does not work, I would then contact a military attorney who can help. There are several of us out there, a Google search will show you many who have this experience.

Best of luck
