Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Can I change my not guilty plea to no contest?

I was charged with domestic battery and was offered 5 days in jail and I declined it and spent 6 in before I got bailed out. I pled not guilty because there was alot of drinking and I didnt remember the night. I now know that I did indeed push her and want to change my plea to no contest before my court date in two weeks. What should I expect and what is the first step.

Yes, If you didn't have a trial yet, you can change your "Not Guilty" plea to a "No contest" plea. However, the same offer you had previously may not still be on the table. Your attorney will be able to bargain with the state to possibly get you time served, but in most instances there are other conditions with DV cases: including probation and anger management classes. depending on the case, this may be required by law.
