I would consult an attorney immediately. Your father's injuries sound catastrophic, and State Farm could be on the hook for additional money.

I am sorry to hear about this. That may be a fair offer or it may not be enough. It depends on the extent of his injuries. You could have an attorney review the damages and negotiate with the insurance on your behalf.

Without knowing all the facts, no one can answer properly. In addition, only your father can sign the papers to settle the claim. Good luck.

I'm sorry to hear about your father's injuries. You really need to consult right away with an attorney who handles a lot of these cases. You need to know how much insurance coverage there is, not only from State Farm, but on any other insurance policy that may cover your father for his injuries. He cannot accept a settlement from the negligent driver's insurance company without first getting permission from the insurance company that insures your father's car, or else he may waive his right to recover additional money that may be available to him. These issues are complicated and you should speak to a lawyer who is knowledgeable in this area. We offer a free consultation and would be happy to speak with you about the situation.
