Based on what you have described you should file a Workers' Compensation claim with your employer. I recommend that you do this before hiring an attorney. If the company's insurance carrier denies your claim or denies you any benefits you are entitled to then by all means hire an attorney.

Under Fla. Stat. chapter 44, you are entitled to medical treatment and lost wages (percentage wise) should an authorized dr take you out of work or place work restrictions on you that your employer cannot accommodate. Many times if the employer and insurance company works with you, you can get all the benefits you are entitled to under the law but there are times that an attorney can help you navigate the system ensuring that you receive what you are entitled to.
