medical bills

i fired my first law firm, and hired another. i had $20,000 covered under an l.o.p. Who is responcible for the bills if i lose in court? This is from an auto accident in florida

Re: medical bills

You are responsible for the medical bills whether you fire your lawyer or not. The lawyer had no responsibility for an LOP bill -- that is just a promise that the doctor would be paid before you get any recovery from the settlement.

As an aside, if you have health insurance, always use that. Many lawyers encourage the use of LOPs when health insurance does exist because it is easier for them.
