Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Past Car Accident Settlement

How can I find out about a past car accident settlement. My mother and I were hit by a drunk driver and had seperate settlement. She recieved hers but I never recieved mine. I was under 18 but moved away. My fear is my mom got it and never gave it to me and I want to be able to see what happened. This happened in Fl and I know live in WA. My mom claims she has no idea what I'm talking about.

If you were under 18 at the time of the settlement in Fl, the Court would have had to approve any settlement as it pertained to a minor. If the settlement agreement apportioned separate dollar amounts to you and your mother, that should be part of the case history and file in the district you resided.

Just give me a call if you would like to discuss further.

Settlement of minors need court approval so there should be something in the court file. If the case was filed separately then you can contact the clerk of court and find out what the case number was. If filed together, you should still be able to find out by doing a search under your nmae. If you have the case number it would be easier.
