Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

A branch from a "wild" tree on the back of my property (on the city's easement) fell into a neighbor's lawn during a lightning storm and bent a small portion of a child-protection screen around their pool area. They left a note at our front door and asked if we would remove it. We did the following day. Several days later, a note was mailed to us and asked to fix the fence. Are we responsible for this repair?
