Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

My next door neighbor said he could put a metal roof on my house for $9,000. I fired him midway and paid another contractor $1,000 to finish putting on the roof. The chimney was put on by the first roofer and did not pass inspection. The first roofer damaged the interior of my garage and my living room and the ceiling has to be fixed. He took off my patio roof and dismantled my pool screen. He removed the soffit and fascia. So far the bills are over $5,000. What can I do. He also signed a letter stating that he would repair the damage to my house.
