Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Legal Separation

My husband wants me to move out of our home (lived 9 yrs). If he sells the home, do I forfeit my half of the profits? Is there anyway he can help me financially since I don't make that much and I have to find an apartment? What are my rights after 10 yrs of marriage?

Re: Legal Separation

You need to talk to an attorney who handles marital issues. However, assuming that the home is in his name alone, unless he lies and states that he is single, your signature is required for him to transfer title (sell) his homestead. If it is in both names, then obviously he cannot sell without your consent.
