Legal Question in Social Security Law in Florida
I received a liver transplant last year in Miami Florida. Everything happened very fast. When I found out I was sick and and my only hope was a transplant, I was not working. Therefor I went through the process of getting Medicaid through the hospital. I did receive both Medicaid and my Transplant. I now receive what I'm being told is medically needed disability in the amount of $800 per month. This is obviously not enough to support both my Son and I. I'm being told by friends and family that I should also be getting a smaller check for my son. At least untill he is 18. I do not have the money to hire an attorney to look into this and I have to say I'm afraid to call the Social Security Office with my questions. I fear I might annoy them or draw attention to myself and lose what little I do receive.
