claim dispute

my ex husband hit a womens car, whom was not insured and had a suspended license. his car ins. paid a limited amount for repairs, but because the truck he was driving had my name on the title and registration, they are making me liable for the balance of damages to her car. they have threatened to take action and suspend my license if i do not pay the balance. why are they not going after the girl? she had no insurance. her car was financed thru this company and they are harassing me for money. am i liable for this?

In Florida, a car owner is liable for damages caused by someone who is driving the car, so you would be liable. You should check with your insurance, because they may have to pay.

Based on what you've said, it sounds like the woman wouldn't be liable becuase she didn't cause the accident.
