Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

I recently got pulled over and ticketed for improper functioning head light and possession of marijuana (1.5g) I didn't receive any court date until after the court date. I called the clerk of courts and they said to come down there and request a new court date. I'm scare that since I have a bench warrant that they will arrest me on the spot. What should I do?

It sounds like a clerk error so I wouldn't worry about the bench warrant. In fact, you'll have bigger worries if you do nothing.

A lawyer can file the appropriate paperwork to request the judge set aside the warrant. A Clerk does not have the authority to do so without the court's approval. I agree that doing nothing is the wrong strategy but I'd recommend hiring an attorney to ensure it's handled properly.
