Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My Great Aunt(sister of my mother's father, both of whom are also deceased) recently passed away. I was informed that I was to receive an inheritance from her estate. The paperwork was sent but my father intercepted it. He and I have the same name, except mine ends in Junior. And the envelope and paperwork did not have the Jr on it. Can he usurp my ability to claim my inheritance?

No. Contact the attorney for the estate to find out the proper beneficiary.

In additon to the prior advise, you can call the county court house where she died and ask whether a probate case has been opened or filed. You may also find this out through their web site. To protect your interests, get the case number and send a letter to the judge about what you think is happening. Ultimately, you may need to hire an attorney if your father insists on his attempt.
