For over 30 years, I represented only injured workers in their claims for injuries on the job, and although my office was primarily in Miami, I am now retired from practice. It's not easy finding a competent and aggressive workers' comp lawyer who has the knowledge and strategies to help you. There's no one in Davenport I can recommend. Although there are spanish-speaking lawyeres in Davenport and in the Orlando area, some of them will not be as aggressive in fighting for you since many represent both employers and injured workers. Some claimant lawyers run a high-volume practice where everyone is too busy to talk to you except the paralegal or secretary, and you never speak to the lawyer. My advice is to call several lawyers until you find an office you feel comfortable with since the case can take over 2 years to finish, and you should take time in making your choice to avoid having to fire the lawyer later on and hiring a substitute lawyer. I can give you 2 names of great lawyers in South Florida who handle cases statewide, and will allow you to submit documents via email, fax, etc. Or, I can give you names in Orlando of lawyers who I don't really know but will be happy to introduce you if you like (sometimes, but not always, this will ensure more attention). Email me and let me know what you prefer.
