Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
an ex-employee had been calling current customers, telling them that she was sexually harrased and that she is going to sue us. She has called 3 customers that I know of and told them this story. This is not true and I need to know how to protect myself, in case she does sue, AND what can I do to keep her from calling more customers.

You may have a claim against the former employee for defamation. You should contact an attorney, such as myself, experienced at handling these claims in Georgia. I would be happy to offer you a free initial consultation by phone. If you are interested, please click the link below and complete our consultation request form:

As a Franchise Attorney while I agree partially with the other attorney answer, there's a danger. If you bring a suit for defamation or try to get an injunction against her, she may be motivated to sue for the alleged sexual harassment. Then, you're going down a very slippery slope. If she wins, it's a complete defense to the defamation claim and you'll be on the hook for harassment damages, which can be substantial. Why, by the way, would she call your customers out of the blue and make these allegations? Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
