Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

I paid $800 for an online course. The business is supposedly based in Canada. They suddenly went out of business and nobody can get any answers or talk to anybody about this. No warning, no refund, NOTHING! Do you have any advice on how to proceed? This must be illegal. There are a lot of people with various complaints that I have found around the internet.

Sure it's illegal and odds are that your money is gone.

The way to not lose money is to check out companies thoroughly before you shop, and then ONLY pay by credit card, to preserve your chargeback rights. And never shop anything major overseas.

Make a police report in case, but learn from the experience.

The other attorney is on point here. Hopefully you charged the fee, so you can dispute it when it appears on your credit card statement. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
