Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Georgia

Probation Violation

My 28 yr old son was arrested for probation violation for not reporting. He was in Dougherty County Jail for 68 days "before" anyone knew he was there. I called my ex-father-in-law to get him to contact his attorney to see why my son still hasn't seen a Judge, or had a court date. The attorney called the probation office, and was told that they were not aware that he had been sitting in jail for 68 days, that no paper work was ever processed or sent to the probation office. He lost his job, and his car while sitting in jail. He filled out paperwork 4 different times, to see attorney or probation officer, but no-one seems to know what happened to any of the paperwork...I feel that his "rights" have been violated. What do you suggest? thanks---name removed--

Might Have A Case But Need More Information

What was your son in jail for when he violated his probation? Where does your son live & in which county? Is your son still in jail? Has your son seen a judge yet if he's still in jail? If your son is no longer in jail, what events took place (did a judge see him, was he released, etc.)? Is your son represented by an attorney now for either criminal or anything civil? I especially need to know if your son has seen a judge yet & if he has, what the judge stated? Did the judge sentence your son for the probation violation? For instance, if your son finally saw a judge on day 70 of his jail time once the jail personnel realized your son was been detained, if the judge sentenced him 70 days or credit for time served or something similar, then there is no damages. What I mean by that is that if you are not harmed, the court cannot redress when there's no wrong. You can call me at 404-601-4132 if it would be easier to discuss this over the telephone.
