if a credit card account is charged off can the company still come after you for the money

Yes. The obligation to honor one's debts does not go away because the creditor had to charge it off.

Yes. Charged off means simply that the company has made an accounting step. In many cases, after the chargeoff, they will pursue you, or sell the debt to someone that will.
