statue of limitations on debts in ga

In 1988 I bought a car for $6000.00 in 1989 I let it go back. About 5 years ago they garnished my wages for $12,000.00 now they are garnishing me again for $13,000.00 can they do this? they didn`t do anything for over ten years

now I have to go to court again? I also was not notified of the court date the first time

If you have a judgment against you already, the statute of limitations does not apply. If you had a problem with notice on your last court date, you should have raised it then. You can have a lawyer look over the paperwork and judgment to see if it is appropriate, but using that money to pay the debt and end it for good is also a good idea.
