right to appeal or sentence reduction

If a person pleads quilty to a blind plea and is sentenced, do you have the right to file an appeal or a sentence reduction, my son is bi polar and has add disorder and he is 18 now but 17 when crime incurred but in his mind he is about 14 his previous mental illness was never even brought up in court, he has been in the hospital 2 times for bi polar disorder. we love our son and we do not think prision will help him, but we live in a small georgia southern biblebelt town, please help us

You can ask for a sentence reduction within one year of sentencing. Your son may also consider filing a habeas corpus to withdraw his guilty plea.
