Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

What happens to a case of a felony drug possession charge where the defendant is bailed out, doesn't go to court, the bond ends up being forfeited & the amount of the bond is paid off by the person who signed the bond, the case is then placed on dead docket, then 5 years later the defendant is arrested for another charge in a different county.

The case was not placed on the dead docket. A bench warrant was issued, when he failed to show up in court. Now that he has been found, the original case will be rescheduled for trial. The case is not over, unless the witnesses are unavailable. See website on how to select the right attorney: www.lawrencelewispc.com
