domestic violence/battery

i am chareged with domestic violence/battery. the state has picked up the charges and i want ot know what to do? my wife is also charged with the same charge. we did not press any charges against each other. there were marks on each of us, vut they were accidental.

If they are charging you both and you are the only two witnesses, you are both entitled to plead the 5th and remain silent and it will be difficult for the state to prove a battery case. A lot will depend on what the cop's saw (or say they saw). Also, it is very important what kind of statements you made regarding how the scratches got there. Mutual accidental scratches sounds a bit suspicious, but should fall short of proof beyond a reasonable doubt.
