Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

Expungement

15 years ago, I was convicted of a misdemeaor charge in Columbus,Georgia. I completed the terms of my probation.

2 weeks ago, after I had already started a new job, my NCIC background check came back with this charge on it and I lost my job.

I have not had any legal problems since this incident 15 years ago and would like to see about getting this expunged from my records.

What do I have to do an how much does that cost?I live in Texas.

I appreciate your help in this matter,

Thank you

Re: Expungement

There is a process that you can go through. It will require the services of an attorney and the cooperation of the (current) prosecutor. It is not an extremely difficult matter if the prosecutor agrees. But I have no idea what the prosecutor in that area is like. Good luck.

The foregoing is general information only, not specific legal advice. No attorney/client relation has been created or should be implied.
