Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
I reported a domestic violence situation last week. The perp has moved out of my house, is seeing a therapist with me and is undergoing outpatient alcohol treatment. The authorities will not let me remove the charges how can I get this resolved without having someone arrested, having them spend time in jail and/ or paying to bail them out?

You do not have the authority to stop a case (only the state can do that).
And it is extremely foolish and dangerous to try and get charges dropped. In looking like you want charges dropped you send a clear message to the abuser that he can get away with it. That may be a fatal mistake.
It is great that he is seeking treatment. But leave the prosecution, and the decisions as to what happens, to the state. If he does well, the state may take that into account as to what is done with his case/
