Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

My son was shot with a bob gun by a neighbors kid. This is the second time this has happened. The last time we told the parents and he got in "big trouble" per the mom. This time my son was shot in the lower back trying to run away and fell into a creek and came home upset, muddy and wet. He was not visibly injured. The mom sent the son to my house to apologize. When he came to the door I shouted at him. Nothing threatening except warning him to stay away from my son or I'd call the police. The mom called me and was upset that I shouted and dropped an f bomb or 2. My son and their other son are best friends and we all live in the same subdivision so I am having trouble dealing with this. My son is 9 and the other boy is probably 13 or 14. I want to protect my children, that's #1. I realize I could have spoken softer to this boy, but I was and I still am upset, mostly because this is the second time this happened. I'm debating filing a police report.

Whatever your question is supposed to be, sure you can file a police report. If you do, you might find out that your actions toward the child lead to charges against you for assault or making threats. This incident might make it more difficult to report it to the police later. Big mistake.
