Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

Supena

Hello my daughter was charged w/ cashing counterfit cks, I had became involved in a scam w/ the Nigerians & didn't know the cks were not good at first, the cks that were cashed by my dauhter came from mine & my husbands accts the nigerians were suppose to transfer money into my acct, these cks were created online and sent to me via email with our info already on them at the time I never noticed that the acct number was not correct as one digit was wrong, on the date the transfer was to take place I received a call to go online & print the cks, I had told them to put the cks in my daugters name as I had cashed my limit that wk, they did, two of these cks actually clear our acct but several were returned, the police charged her with printin and cashing the cks, however recently my husband whose name is on the cks was supenaed by the state to testify against my daughter & his step-daughter, my husband called to see why he rec'd the paper he said they would not give him any info pertaining to the supena or why which makes no sense to me, why would District Attorney issue a supena for a person to testify against his own step daughter unless agreed to this prior. Shouldn't people be aware they may be supenaed. Please respond AS

Re: Supena

The whole purpose behind a subpoena is to compel the testimony of those unwilling to testify voluntarily. Best of luck.

The subpoena is the notice that they will be called as a witness. They are not obligated to give background on the case, only where to be and when.
