Supervisor chokes employee!

my husband's supervisor got upset with him on the job, while his hands were full (he deliever office furniture) the supervisor jumps on his back and start choking him. Now my husband's neck and back is givin him problems. He went to the doctor and police (warrant on supervisor) What esle can he do legally so that this will not happen again or to anyone esle?

In addition to reporting the incident to the police, he can file a civil suit for the battery.
