Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Georgia

Is there anything that I can do

My question is since May I have been going thur something on my job. That has included my hours beening drastically all because I dedcide to pursure action against a fellow employee that called my home and threaten to kill me. A human resource agent was sending an email to my manager and district manager and she accidentally sent the email to me also. The reason that I say accidentally, is because as soon as she was told that my personal home email address on the email. She tried to recall it from me twice to no prevail. In this email she calls be barely literate, rude and confrontational. That she suggest that they all take several Valiums before meeting with me. She also calls me a loaded bear. Then we had a meeting and she apologize for sending the email, stating that she was frustated and it was unprofessional. I have the apologize on tape. Because I recorded the meeting and she was well aware that it was being recorded. I don't want what has happen to me to happen to anyone else in that company. So I need to know do I have any legal rights. And is there a time limits that this has to be done. Since the meeting was on June 26,2006 8:00 p.m.

Thanks in advance. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Re: Is there anything that I can do

It is hard to tell whether you have any claim. They are certainly entitled to think you are rude and confrontational, and say so to you or each other, or behind your back. I am not sure how the apology on tape is relevant, or why you believe there is some kind of time limit for the meeting. It is not "illegal" to call someone those names. Basically, if you are an at-will employee they can fire you for any reason or no reason, except for reasons of race, religion, age, or gender. I am not sure a dispute with a fellow employee, or threats to kill, would fall into those categories. If in doubt, see a lawyer and explain the whole story.
