Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

child support arrears

My children's father was once over

$29,000 in arrears on child support.

He has now caught this up but GA

sent me papers showing $15,000

of interest accrued on the arrears

over the years. GA child support says they will not collect this. What

could an attorney do about it? He

now lives in Louisiana.

Re: child support arrears

you can still collect interest separately without state ......ocga allows such interest to accrue and ga dhr usually collects it.....must be LA that is fighting it....you can file a garnishment.....consult either collections or domestic lawyer most do it on contingency basis.....
