Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Father's Child Custody

My husband is currently fighting to get custody of his 3 children. His daughter (14) moved in with us November 2007, she and my step-son (11) both signed a ''child's election'' to live with my husband. We have recordings that my step-son recorded with his cell phone of his mother and her husband physically fighting. Also we pulled her husbands public record and found that he has been arrested 28 times including cocaine poss, family violence, child misconduct, 4 DUIs and so on. My husband continues to pay child support for my step-daughter which we have had for the past 5 months. The mother attacked me 3 weeks ago at an event for my step-daughter in front of hundreds of parents, teachers and children. I currently have a good behavior warrant on her. My questions are, What are the chances he will get custody of his 3 children and will he be able to be ''reimbersed'' for the child support he has paid towards my step-daughter.

Re: Father's Child Custody

This is not remotely appropriate for this forum (even if lawyers here could answer your question). If these issues are important, you will get an experienced lawyer (not merely one who offers to take your case) immediately.

Re: Father's Child Custody

No one can give you odds on a change of custody. The person who can best assess the case is your husband's lawyer (if he doesn't have one, he has virtually no chance, and if he does, he is the only one familiar enough with your case to answer you.)

(Ther is no reimbursement for support previously paid).
