Grandparents seeking financial reimbursement

Can grandparents seek financial reimbursement from custodial parent? Over the past few months my child has visited with them on and off. I have maintained necessary financial obligations, and now the grandparents are wanting to seek reimbusement of what they have spent on my child. They have done so of their own free will.

I doubt that they can recover anything. My opinion is that anything they spent was a gift. However, that does not mean that they can't try. Consult with a local attorney. I handle this type of case on a regular basis. If you would like to discuss further, please feel free to call me.
